Ingredients
- 5 cloves garlic
- 3 - ham hocks, about 1.5 pounds
- 3 - celery ribs (or stalks, whichever term you use)
- 3 medium red potatoes, cubed
- 2 quarts water
- 1 medium yellow onions, chopped chunky
- 1/2 stick butter, unsalted
- 1/2 pound baby carrots, halved
- 1/2 bunch chives, chopped
- SEASONINGS (CAN BE TO TASTE, THIS IS WHAT I USE)
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon white ground pepper
- 1 teaspoon ground thyme
- 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
- 1 - packet sazon goya, cilantro & tomato
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon whole cumin, dried
How To Make ham hock soup

Step 1Melt butter in large stock pot. Cook onion and garlic until onion is starting to become translucent. Add celery, potatoes, carrots, chives and water and stir.

Step 2Add seasonings, stir.

Step 3Add Ham Hocks and simmer, covered, for 3-5 hours.
