I used to love watching my father as he worked in the kitchen. He never thought of cooking as an impediment to his masculinity. It was just another way of showing how much he cared for us, so here we go as I take you back in time and I recreate the recipe that takes me back to our kitchen.

2 1/2 lbstewing beef

3 lbcarrots, cubed

2 lbonions, small, frozen whole

2 lbcelery stalks

1 lbcorn kernels, frozen

1 1/2 call purpose flour

1 cfrozen spinach, thawed and drained
How To Make daddy' beef stew

1brown beef in three to four tablespooms of crico vegetable oil after having dredge it in seasomed flour. do this in batches so that meat browna well in stead of steaming. once the meat is done, remove from the dutch oven or other heavy bottom cook pot.

2add other ingredients except for spinach. add enough stock or water to cover vegetables. bring to boil over medium heat and cover reduce to simmer. cook until vegetables are tender, about one and half to two hourw. about one half hour before vegetables are done add both the meat and spinach. cook until done. serve with biscuits or dumplings.
