Blue Ribbon Recipe
If you have ever had French onion soup at a restaurant, you know how delicious it is. The hardest part of this recipe is slowly cooking down and caramelizing sliced onions. They're added to a slow cooker with beef broth, sherry, and Worcestershire sauce. In the Crock Pot, the onions soak up the wonderful broth flavor. A toasted slice of French bread with cheese is placed on top when serving. It's almost like a cheesy crouton. With a simple technique and classic flavors, it's a wonderful bowl of French onion soup.
