I absolutely love this cheese soup recipe. I acquired it from an elderly lady in my hometown, and it was her homemade recipe. The soup is extremely easy to make, and it's quick. Not to mention tasty! Sometimes I like to add more cheese, but that is personal preference.

chopped onion (may substitute for 1/2 teaspoon(s) onion powder)

dry mustard
1/4 tsp

chicken broth or bouillon

grated cheddar cheese (i like to use mild cheddar cheese)

How to Make Amana Cheese Soup


  • 1Brown onion in oleo. Blend in flour and seasonings. Gradually stir in milk and broth.
  • 2Bring to a boil and boil for one minute, stirring constantly.
  • 3Add cheese and cook slowly, stirring constantly until cheese is melted.
  • 4After the soup is ready, test to see if you need to add more cheese. Enjoy!
