I absolutely love this cheese soup recipe. I acquired it from an elderly lady in my hometown, and it was her homemade recipe. The soup is extremely easy to make, and it's quick. Not to mention tasty! Sometimes I like to add more cheese, but that is personal preference.

  • 2 Tbsp
    chopped onion (may substitute for 1/2 teaspoon(s) onion powder)
  • 4 Tbsp
  • 4 Tbsp
  • 1/4 tsp
    dry mustard
  • 1/4 tsp
  • 2 c
  • 2 c
    chicken broth or bouillon
  • 2 c
    grated cheddar cheese (i like to use mild cheddar cheese)

How to Make Amana Cheese Soup


  1. Brown onion in oleo. Blend in flour and seasonings. Gradually stir in milk and broth.
  2. Bring to a boil and boil for one minute, stirring constantly.
  3. Add cheese and cook slowly, stirring constantly until cheese is melted.
  4. After the soup is ready, test to see if you need to add more cheese. Enjoy!
