shrimp and bass tom yum soup

I made this with some fresh bass filets that we caught fishing in our favorite lake. This was so good. I have shared a recipe for Thai chicken stock, but you can use regular chicken stock or seafood sauce.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Thai chicken stock
  • 3 scallions, chopped white and light green parts only
  • 10 medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 bass filets, cut into chunks
  • 6 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 4 tablespoons lime juice
  • 3 tablespoons chili paste in soy bean sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • fresh cilantro for garnish

How To Make shrimp and bass tom yum soup

  • Step 1
    Bring the chicken stock to a boil. Add the scallions and reduce the heat to medium. Add the shrimp and bass, cook 1 minute.
  • Step 2
    Add the fish sauce, lime juice, chili paste, and brown sugar. Continue to cook 2 more minutes. Taste and adjust seasonings. Garnish with cilantro.
