My Mother used to make this when i would come home from school it would be so cold.Nice& hot and hearty.Origionaly it was made with just milk and butter but I added the potatoes and cheese to make it my own. Enjoy

Ingredients For salmon soup

  • 5 1/2 c
    milk
  • 1/2 stick
    butter or margerine
  • 1 can
    salmon (remove bones)
  • 2 or 3 lg
    potatoes
  • 1/2 lg
    box of velvetta cheese, or bag of your favorite cheese
  • salt pinch
    too taste
  • pepper pinch
    too taste
  • 1 can
    peas drained, optional or
  • 1 pkg
    frozen broccoli, optional

How To Make salmon soup

    In a large sauce pan put can of salmon,juice,remove bones and breakup salmon add milk and butter,salt and pepper.Peel potatoes and chop into medium squares add to soup.Bring to a boil on high then turn down to medium /low heat cook till potatoes are tender. You can also add a can of peas, drained or chopped broccoli but this is optional.

    Chop Velveeta cheese into squares, add as little or as much as you like depending how creamy or cheesey you like your soup.Or you can add your favorite bag of shredded cheese.Stir until melted. Serve with crackers.
