Ingredients

  • 7 1/2 ounces alaska salmon, canned
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 - garlic clove, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup potatoes, diced
  • 1 cup carrots, diced
  • 2 cups chicken broth, low salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
  • - pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup broccoli, chopped
  • 13 ounces evaporated milk
  • 10 ounces corn, thawed
  • - parsley, minced

How To Make alaska salmon chowder

  • Step 1
    Drain and flake salmon, reserving liquid.
  • Step 2
    Saute onions, celery and garlic in butter.
  • Step 3
    Add potatoes, carrots, reserved salmon liquid, chicken broth and seasonings; Simmer, covered, 20 minutes, or until vegetables are nearly tender.
  • Step 4
    Add broccoli and cook 5 minutes. Add flaked salmon, evaporated milk and corn; heat thoroughly.
  • Step 5
    Sprinkle with minced parsley to serve.
