Ingredients

  • 3 cups potatoes, diced
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups scalded milk
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • - salt & pepper to taste

How To Make sour cream potato soup

  • Step 1
    Combine the water and broth and in it cook the potatoes, celery and onion in a covered pan until very tender.
  • Step 2
    Do not drain.
  • Step 3
    Press it through a sieve.
  • Step 4
    Add milk and butter.
  • Step 5
    Mix sour cream with flour until smooth.
  • Step 6
    Add to soup, and cook stirring constantly, until thickened.
  • Step 7
    Season to taste with salt and pepper.
