egg, beaten
1 c
soft bread crumbs
1/4 c
finely chopped onion
1 tsp
1 tsp
dried marjoram
1/2 tsp
dried thyme
1 lb
ground beef
2 Tbsp
vegetable oil
2 can(s)
14.5 oz. beef broth
2 can(s)
condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
medium potatoes, cut into pieces
medium carrots cut into small chunks

How to Make Sis's Meatball Stew


  • 1In a bowl combine egg, bread crumbs, chopped onion, salt, marjoram and thyme. Add beef and mix well. Shape into about 48 meatballs. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes till nicely browned, then drain off any grease.
  • 2In a Dutch oven mix the broth, soup, potatoes, carrots and bring to a boil. Add the meatballs, reduce heat then simmer for 30 minutes, or till vegetables are tender.
  • 3Serve with a crusty bread or garlic toast.
