My son, Shawn, who is an excellent cook, made this up. We love it for Christmas!

  • 1/2 stick
  • 1 pkg
    chopped seasonngs, onion, bell pepper, celery
  • 2 Tbsp
    minced garlic
  • 1 can(s)
    mild rotel tomatoes, drained
  • 2 1/2 pt
    heavy cream
  • 2 pt
  • 2 lb
  • 1 lb
  • ·
    cayenne pepper to taste
  • ·
    cajun seasoning to taste
  • 2 can(s)
    whole kernal corn, drained
  • 2 can(s)
    creamed corn

How to Make Shawn's Shrimp and Corn Soup


  1. Saute' butter, sesonings mix, garlic, Rotel, a few shrimp and some crab meat (save most of shrimp and crab for later!). Tne npuree and set aside.
  2. Boil heavy cream and milk together to make soup base. Now add 2 cans whole kernal corn, and 2 cans creamed corn.
  3. Saute' 2 pounds shrimp and 1 pound crabmeat. Season to taste with cajun seasonings or red pepper.
  4. Combine the soup base, seasoning base, and sauted shrimp and crab. Cook over low heat until desired thickness. Can add chicken stock and milk if needs to be thinned.
