Another simple soup recipe. I've been making this for years. It's especially good when it really starts to get cooler out; which for those of us in Florida means right around Christmas! But it is good anytime of year and so easy to put together.

celery stalk, chopped

medium onion, chopped
2 Tbsp
butter
2 pkg
chicken gravy mix, any brand
1/4 tsp
celery salt
1/4 tsp
cumin
1/4 tsp
cajun seasoning
salt and pepper to taste
4 c
whole milk, or 2%

medium potatos, peeled, cooked and cubed
1 c
velveeta cheese, cubed

How to Make Potato Soup

Step-by-Step

  • 1In a large sauce pan or dutch oven, sautee celery and onion in butter until tender. Stir in chicken gravy packet, celery salt, cumin, cajon seasoning and salt and pepper.
  • 2Gradually add milk while stirring. Bring to a brief boil, stir for two minutes and reduce heat. Stir in potatos and cheese. Cook until heated through and cheese is melted.
