Another simple soup recipe. I've been making this for years. It's especially good when it really starts to get cooler out; which for those of us in Florida means right around Christmas! But it is good anytime of year and so easy to put together.

Ingredients For potato soup

  • 1
    celery stalk, chopped
  • 1
    medium onion, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter
  • 2 pkg
    chicken gravy mix, any brand
  • 1/4 tsp
    celery salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    cumin
  • 1/4 tsp
    cajun seasoning
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 c
    whole milk, or 2%
  • 5
    medium potatos, peeled, cooked and cubed
  • 1 c
    velveeta cheese, cubed

How To Make potato soup

  • 1
    In a large sauce pan or dutch oven, sautee celery and onion in butter until tender. Stir in chicken gravy packet, celery salt, cumin, cajon seasoning and salt and pepper.

    Gradually add milk while stirring. Bring to a brief boil, stir for two minutes and reduce heat. Stir in potatos and cheese. Cook until heated through and cheese is melted.
