i have made this soup for years in a resturant my mom owns and everyone loves it i hope you do to.

Ingredients

  • 8-10 - russet potatoes
  • 1 large - onion
  • 1 lb - bacon
  • 1 tbs - sweet basil
  • 2cups - instant potato flakes, dry
  • 6cups - water
  • 6cups - milk
  • 2 tbs - crushed garlic
  • chicken ba - bouillon cubes to taste

How To Make potato soup

  • Step 1
    in a large soup pot cut in to 1/2 inch pcs 1lb of bacon,brown in pot.cube up potatos in small pcs do same with onion add to pot and cook for ten min. now it is time to add water,garlic,s basil,and chicken b.cook till the potatos are done.make sure when you add water that you stir the bottom of the pan good to get all of the bacon that was cooked from the bottom,that is what adds alot of flavor to the soup. now it is time to add the milk get to a boil and add the instant potatoes as a thickner and enjoy.if you want you can add more instant depending on how thick you want it. salt and pepper to taste.
