Ingredients

  • 12 medium potatoes, diced
  • 6 cups water
  • 1 small whole onion, peeled
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cans campbell's cream of chicken soup
  • 2 tablespoons flour, mixed with enough water to make a paste
  • 1/2 package philadelphia cooking cream, italian herbs & cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup extra sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 3 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

How To Make potato soup

  • Step 1
    In large pot simmer potatoes, whole onion, vegetable oil and salt and pepper until potatoes are tender.
  • Step 2
    Discard the onion. Add chicken soup, flour/paste mixture and simmer until smooth and thick.
  • Step 3
    Add cooking cream, cheddar cheese and sour cream and gently stir until cheese is melted and combined well. Add crumbled bacon.
