not your usual broccoli cheese soup
Usually you think of a thick orange soup with green pieces in it. Try this for a little different twist to an old favorite. We always had this around the holidays.

Ingredients
- 3 cups water
- 1 pound chopped broccoli, fresh or frozen
- 1 large onion
- 4 - chicken bouillion cubes
- WHITE SAUCE:
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 cups milk, 2% or whole
- 4-5 tablespoons flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 8 ounces cream cheese,, cubed
How To Make not your usual broccoli cheese soup

Step 1In a large sauce pan cook broccoli and onion in the water and bouillon cubes. Boil until tender but not mushy. Do not drain!

Step 2While the vegetables are cooking melt butter in a medium sauce pan. Stir in flour and salt. Add the milk while whisking. Whisk until smooth. Let it come to a boil continuing to whisk. This will be thick.

Step 3When vegetables are tender add white sauce directly into vegetables. Stir together. Add the cubed cream cheese. Continue stirring until the cheese is melted. Serve.
