Talk about comfort food! This is an old family recipe that's great hot or cold. Traditionally, we served this with warm sour dough bread. Yum!!!

Ingredients
- 4 - leeks, thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup butter
- 5 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 2 cups milk, whole
- 2 cups medium cream (or half and half)
- 1 cup heavy cream
How To Make nanna's vichyssoise

Step 1Cook leeks and onions in butter until slightly transparent.

Step 2Add potatoes, broth and salt. Cook 35 to 40 minutes. Pour small batches into blender or food processor and blend until smooth; then pour back into pot.

Step 3Return to heat. Add milk and creams. Serve hot or cold.
