Talk about comfort food! This is an old family recipe that's great hot or cold. Traditionally, we served this with warm sour dough bread. Yum!!!

Ingredients For nanna's vichyssoise

4leeks, thinly sliced

1 mdonion, thinly sliced

1/4 cbutter
-
5 mdpotatoes, peeled and thinly sliced

4 cchicken broth
-
1 Tbspsalt
-
2 cmilk, whole
-
2 cmedium cream (or half and half)

1 cheavy cream
How To Make nanna's vichyssoise

1Cook leeks and onions in butter until slightly transparent.

2Add potatoes, broth and salt. Cook 35 to 40 minutes. Pour small batches into blender or food processor and blend until smooth; then pour back into pot.

3Return to heat. Add milk and creams. Serve hot or cold.
