I really like homemade mushroom soup but I like the convenience of canned soup. Quickly sauteeing some fresh mushrooms and a little added onion enhance canned soup and make it tastier!

Ingredients
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 can milk (or 1/2 & 1/2)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tablespoons onion, chopped
- 1-2 dash hot sauce (optional)
- parsley, to serve (optional)
How To Make enhanced canned mushroom soup

Step 1Add butter to a hot skillet, sauté cut up mushrooms and chopped onion until they are softened. You can keep going if you would like your onions slightly crispy.

Step 2Meanwhile, in a saucepan, whisk together soup and milk until smooth. Heat and simmer until mushrooms and onions are done.

Step 3Scrape mushrooms and onions into the simmering soup. Stir briefly. Add a couple dashes hot sauce, if desired. Sprinkle with parsley to serve.
