Ingredients
- 2/3 cup carrots, scraped and shredded
- 2/3 cup celery, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 dash black pepper
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 cup ham, cooked and cubed
How To Make creamy cheddar soup

Step 1Saute carrot, celery, and onion in butter in a small Dutch oven until tender.

Step 2Add the flour, stirring until smooth. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add milk; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture is thickened and bubbly. Add salt and pepper; stir well.

Step 3Add the cheese and ham; stirring until the cheese melts. Serve immediately.
