This can be varied by using veg. broth, sauteed celery, celery seed, chopped sauteed mushrooms, chicken or whatever you choose.

3 Tbsp
all purpose flour
1/2 c
low sodium chicken broth
1/2 c
lowfat or skimmed milk
salt and pepper to taste

How to Make Cream Soup Substitute


  • 1Melt Butter in saucepan over med. low heat
  • 2Stir in flour, stirring until smooth and bubbly
  • 3Remove from heat and add broth and milk stirring to keep smooth
  • 4Return to heat, bring sauce to gentle boi stirring constantly, until it thickens
  • 5Add salt and pepper to taste
