Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons onion, chopped
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 cup half and half
- 3 cups fresh broccoli, chopped
How To Make cream of broccoli soup

Step 1Saute onion in butter (or magarine) in a Dutch oven.

Step 2Add flour, stirring until smooth. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add milk, half and half and chicken broth; cook over medium heat, stirring until mixture is thickened and bubbly. Stir in salt, garlic powder and basil. Add broccoli; cover and cook over medium heat 15 minutes or until broccoli is tender.
