1Saute onion in butter (or magarine) in a Dutch oven.
2Add flour, stirring until smooth. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add milk, half and half and chicken broth; cook over medium heat, stirring until mixture is thickened and bubbly. Stir in salt, garlic powder and basil. Add broccoli; cover and cook over medium heat 15 minutes or until broccoli is tender.
