Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 2 pints strawberries, fresh, hulled
- 2 cups orange juice
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/2 cup dry red wine or rose wine, optional
- - non-fat yogurt
- - lemon slices
How To Make cool strawberry soup

Step 1To prepare sugar syrup, combine water, sugar, cinnamon and allspice in small saucepan.

Step 2Bring to boiling over medium heat.

Step 3Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes.

Step 4Working in batches if necessary, combine berries, orange juice, lemon juice and sugar syrup in food processor or blender.

Step 5Whirl until pureed.

Step 6Press through fine sieve into bowl.

Step 7Stir in wine, if using.

Step 8Pour into sotrage container and refrigerate overnight or up to 3 days.

Step 9Serve with a dollop of yogurt and slice of lemon, if desired.
