I hold teas and this is a great recipe for an afternoon tea.

2 tbsp butter
3 whole cloves
1/2 tsp coriander seeds,crushed
1 lb.carrots peeled and thinly sliced
2 1/2 c. chicken broth
salt and pepper to taste
1/4 tsp sugar
1 c. half and half
fresh chives ,optional garnich

How to Make Carot Velet Soup


  • 1place butter,cloves and coliander seeds into deep saucepan.Add Carrots,broth,salt sugar and pepper
  • 2cover and cook until carrots are tender,about 30 minutes
  • 3In a food processor,puree the soup mixture until smooth. return mixture to saucepan, add half and half. Gently reheat soup and add seasoning if needed. Garnish with freshly snipped chives
