celery, chopped fine

chicken broth
1&1/2 tsp
thyme, fresh
bay leaf
1 tsp
lawry's seasoned salt or salt and pepper to taste
1 can(s)
italian plum tomatoes, 2 lbs drain off liquid, chop tomatoes
1 c
parsley, fresh, copped
2 medium
potatoes, chop into squares
2-3 small can(s)

How to Make Red Clam Chowder


  • 1Melt butter, add onion & celery - low heat 20 minutes until vegetables are tender.
  • 2Add chicken broth, thyme, bay leaf, seasoning salt, pepper, tomatoes, parsley & potatoes. Simmer 20 minutes medium fire, til potatoes are just tender.
  • 35 minutes before serving ADD clams
  • 4Remove bay leaf before serving. O
