  • 4 Tbsp
  • 2 c
    onion, finely minced
  • 1 c
    celery, chopped fine
  • 5 c
    chicken broth
  • 1&1/2 tsp
    thyme, fresh
  • 1
    bay leaf
  • 1 tsp
    lawry's seasoned salt or salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 can(s)
    italian plum tomatoes, 2 lbs drain off liquid, chop tomatoes
  • 1 c
    parsley, fresh, copped
  • 2 medium
    potatoes, chop into squares
  • 2-3 small can(s)

How to Make Red Clam Chowder


  1. Melt butter, add onion & celery - low heat 20 minutes until vegetables are tender.
  2. Add chicken broth, thyme, bay leaf, seasoning salt, pepper, tomatoes, parsley & potatoes. Simmer 20 minutes medium fire, til potatoes are just tender.
  3. 5 minutes before serving ADD clams
  4. Remove bay leaf before serving. O
