Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups onion, finely minced
  • 1 cup celery, chopped fine
  • 5 cups chicken broth
  • 1&1/2 teaspoon thyme, fresh
  • 1 - bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon lawry's seasoned salt or salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 can italian plum tomatoes, 2 lbs drain off liquid, chop tomatoes
  • 1 cup parsley, fresh, copped
  • 2 medium potatoes, chop into squares
  • 2-3 small cans clams

How To Make red clam chowder

  • Step 1
    Melt butter, add onion & celery - low heat 20 minutes until vegetables are tender.
  • Step 2
    Add chicken broth, thyme, bay leaf, seasoning salt, pepper, tomatoes, parsley & potatoes. Simmer 20 minutes medium fire, til potatoes are just tender.
  • Step 3
    5 minutes before serving ADD clams
  • Step 4
    Remove bay leaf before serving. O
