Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup salt pork, cut into cubes
  • 1 slice onion
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 3 cups potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup carrots, finely chopped
  • 2 cups hot milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
  • 6 - crackers

How To Make potato chowder

  • Step 1
    Cook salt pork with onion slowly 10 minutes; add boiling water. Strain into kettle, add potatoes, carrots and seasonings, cook 15 minutes until potatoes are tender.
  • Step 2
    Add hot milk and crackers to the chowder, cook 5 minutes.
