  • 20 slice
    diced bacon
  • 7 c
    chopped onions
  • 7 1/2 c
  • 15 c
    peeled and diced potatoes
  • 2 1/4 Tbsp
  • 2 tsp
  • 13 1/2 c
    half n half
  • 3/4 c
  • 102 oz
    ocean clams

How to Make my best clam chowder


  1. cook diced bacon till it is lightly crispy on med-high heat
  2. add onions to bacon and cook 4-8 min
  3. stir in water and potatoes and add salt and pepper and bring to a boil and cook till potatoes are tender
  4. pour in half and half,butter and both cans of clams juice and all and cook till heated thru and thru without boiling
  5. thicken with cornstarch and soup juice so not to loose flavor to desired consistency
