My family loves this thick and hearty soup, especially on cold winter days! It's easy to prepare and is satisfying to eat. You can thicken it with instant potatoes or top it with Swiss cheese, if desired.

Ingredients
- 3 pounds petite red creamer potatoes or potato of your choice
- 1 - green cabbage
- 1 package polish sausage
- 1 - medium onion
- 4 cups water
- 1 cup milk
- - salt and pepper, to taste
How To Make hearty winter chowder

Step 1Dice unpeeled potatoes, chop onion, chop cabbage into bite-size pieces, and slice polish sausage.

Step 2In large soup pot place water, potatoes, onion, cabbage and sausage. Bring to a boil, then simmer until veggies are tender.

Step 3Just before serving, add milk, salt and pepper.
