Enjoy this recipe, on a cool fall day served with cheesy biscuits

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup green pepper,chopped
  • 1 package smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 can corn, drained
  • 1 can cream style corn
  • 2 teaspoons salt, or season to taste
  • 2 teaspoons pepper, or season to taste
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 3 - russet potatoes, cut into chunks, skin on if you like
  • 1 1/2 cups instant mashed potatoes, (thickener)
  • 4 cups water

How To Make hearty corn chowder with smoked sausage

  • Step 1
    Saute onion,green pepper, minced garlic & smoked sausage.
  • Step 2
    In a crockpot, combine corn, cream style corn,russet potatoes & saute mix (onion,green pepper, minced garlic & smoked sausage)
  • Step 3
    Add water & seasonings to taste, stir.
  • Step 4
    Cook in crockpot on med - high setting, depending on your crockpot.
  • Step 5
    When potatoes are tender; add stick of butter, half & half and instant potatoes. Enjoy!!! ;)
