One of Philip's friend did work at a seafood restaurant in Virginia Beach and their clam chowder is one of their signatures... What is hard to believe is that everybody that goes to this restaurant thinks that their chowder is homemade....well kinda... I just could not believe it myself when I did eat it...Never I would had dare to think it was this recipe. .Oh! well!! Quick, easy and taste absolutely wonderful like from scratch. I made it several times. At times I like to make a change and I add a can of yellow corn.

  • 4 cans minced clams with juice
  • 1 large onion, vidalia, peeled and diced
  • 1 stick butter
  • 4 stalks celery dices
  • 3 cans cream of potato soup
  • 1 can cream of celery soup
  • 2 tablespoons black pepper
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 box soup crackers
  • 1 pinch chili powder

How To Make easy clam chowder

  • Step 1
Melt butter in large pot and sauté diced onions and celery till soft.
  • Step 2
Drain three cans of clams and add to pot. Take last can and add without draining. Add the pepper and chili powder and cook for 5 minutes on low.
  • Step 3
Stir in the cream potato and celery soup cooking on low heat.
  • Step 4
Slowly add milk to pot until you reach the thick creaminess you desire. Do not bring milk to boil...keep on low heat so you don't scald milk.
