My husband LOVES good clam chowder and this is so easy.

Ingredients

  • 6 - strips of bacon cooked crispy and crumbled,and some of the bacon fat
  • 1 cup uncooked potatoes,chopped
  • 1 c cup celery,chopped
  • 1 cup onions.chopped
  • 1 cup carrots,chopped
  • 1 - 28 ounce can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 cans large size of v-8 juice
  • 1 teaspoon thyme, dried
  • 1 - bay leaf
  • 4 cans minced or chopped clams,including juice
  • - salt and pepper to taste

How To Make crockpot manhattan clam chowder

  • Step 1
    Add all the ingreients to crockpot.Stir well.
  • Step 2
    Cook on LOW 8 hours,until veggies are tender REMOVE BAY LEAF and enjoy!
  • Step 3
    You can make it SPICY by using SPICY V-8 or adding Frank's Redhot Sauce ,if desired
