This is a large stew pot size recipe, but it freezes well, so I always make the large batch. I added my own touch to the original family recipe...we like the thicker consistency.

celery, chopped
1 c
1 small
onion, diced
10 medium
potatoes, diced small
1/4 c
chicken base
10 c
4# can(s)
creamed corn
3# can(s)
whole corn
parsley or parsley flakes

How to Make Corn Chowder


  • 1Saute' onions, potatoes and celery in butter till tender. Add remaining ingredients and heat till hot and thickened to consistency of potato soup.
    NOTE: I add 3 cups of instant potatoes (more if desired)- ONE CUP AT A TIME, SLOWLY, stirring well and waiting in between to judge thickness. Season with salt and pepper, if desired, to taste.
