Ingredients

  • 10 - strips of bacon,diced
  • 1 large onion,chopped
  • 1 cup diced carrots
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 2 1/2 cups cubed potatoes
  • 1 can whole kernel corn,drained
  • 2 - chicken bouillon cubes
  • - pepper to taste
  • 3 cups shredded cheddar
  • 2 cups diced fully cooked ham
  • pinch parsley

How To Make cheesy ham chowder

  • Step 1
    In a dutch oven,cook baconover med. heat until crisp.Remove to paper towel,set aside.
  • Step 2
    Saute onion and carrot in drippings until tender.Stir in flour until blended,gradually add milk and water.Cook and stir 2 min. or until thickened.
  • Step 3
    Add potatoes,corn,bouillion and pepper.Reduce heat;simmer uncovered for 20 min. or until potatoes are tender.
  • Step 4
    Add cheese and ham,heat until cheese is melted,add bacon.Sprinkle in parsley if desired
