cheeseburger chowder
This recipe came about because my son loves a cheeseburger, but hates pickles and most of the cheeseburger chowders had diced pickles or pickle juice in them.

Ingredients
- 1 2/3 pounds ground chuck
- 2 medium red potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1/2 cup chopped celery
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons chopped green pepper
- 1 tablespoon beef flavored bouillon granules
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 cups milk, divided
- 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
- 1/2 cup shredded American cheese
- 4 tablespoons bacon crumbles, to garnish, optional
How To Make cheeseburger chowder

Step 1Brown the ground chuck in a 3 quart saucepan, stirring until it crumbles; drain.

Step 2Add the potatoes, water, celery, garlic, onions, green bell peppers, beef bouillon granules, and salt. Stir well. Bring to a boil; cover, reduce heat and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes or until the vegetables are tender.

Step 3Combine the flour and 1/2 cup milk; add to the vegetable mixture, stirring constantly. Stir in the remaining milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture is thickened.

Step 4Add 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese and the American cheese; cook, stirring constantly, just until the cheese melts. Ladle the soup into individual bowls and sprinkle with additional sharp cheddar and bacon crumbles, if desired.
