This is a nice way to have venison even if you don't like vension. The red wine at the end makes it special =)

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup vegtable oil
  • 2 pounds venison cubed small or coarsely ground
  • 4 cloves garlic chopped
  • 2 - onions chopped
  • 1 - green bell pepper chopped
  • 2 cups water
  • 4 - tomatoes chopped
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 2 - jalapeno peppers chopped and deseeded
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon basil
  • 1/2 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper(optional depending on heat wanted)
  • 1 cup red wine

How To Make venison chili

  • Step 1
    Heat oil in large stock pot. Add venison and cook until light brown on all sides. Add garlic, onions and bell pepper. Saute until onions and bell pepper are tender.
  • Step 2
    Stir in water, tomatoes, molasses, jalapeno, chili powder, basil, cumin , kosher salt, peppers. simmer over low heat for 2 1/2 hours.
  • Step 3
    Add the wine and mix well. Cook for 30 min longer
