Ingredients
- 1/4 cup vegtable oil
- 2 pounds venison cubed small or coarsely ground
- 4 cloves garlic chopped
- 2 - onions chopped
- 1 - green bell pepper chopped
- 2 cups water
- 4 - tomatoes chopped
- 2 tablespoons molasses
- 2 - jalapeno peppers chopped and deseeded
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 tablespoon basil
- 1/2 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon red pepper(optional depending on heat wanted)
- 1 cup red wine
How To Make venison chili

Step 1Heat oil in large stock pot. Add venison and cook until light brown on all sides. Add garlic, onions and bell pepper. Saute until onions and bell pepper are tender.

Step 2Stir in water, tomatoes, molasses, jalapeno, chili powder, basil, cumin , kosher salt, peppers. simmer over low heat for 2 1/2 hours.

Step 3Add the wine and mix well. Cook for 30 min longer
