This is very healthy. The only red meat we eat is whatever my husband can harvest. And during hunting season, we have plenty of venison.

prep time 5 Min
cook time 40 Min
method ---
yield 12 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground venison
  • 1 - yellow bell pepper
  • 3 - jalapeno peppers
  • 1 - big onion
  • 2 packages mccormick low sodium chili seasoning
  • 1 can black beans (reg. size)
  • 1 can great northern beans
  • 1 can light red kidney beans
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (big can)
  • 1 can tomato sauce (reg. can)
  • 1 cup water

How To Make venison chili

  • Step 1
Saute the bell pepper, onion and jalapeno peppers in canola oil or olive oil; add venison and cook until the meat is done, not pink. Pour all the beans in a colander and wash them, and dump them in the pot - Then add everything else and let it cook covered about 30 minutes on low; then take the top off and let it simmer for about 15 minutes to thicken up.
  • Step 2
I served this over brown rice.
