    vegetable oil
  • 1/2 c
    chopped onion
  • 1 c
    chopped green bell pepper
  • 1
    garlic clove
  • 1/4 c
  • 1 tsp
    chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/4 tsp
  • 2 Tbsp
    green chiles, drained, seeded, chopped
  • 2 can(s)
    chicken broth
  • 2 c
    cooked chicken, diced
  • 1 can(s)
    stewed tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 can(s)
    mixed vegetables, with liquid

How to Make Texas Chili Chicken Stew


  1. Heat oil in 2-quart pot.
  2. Cook onion and green pepper until tender, but
    not browned.
  3. Add garlic and stir in flour, chili powder, basil, oregano, chiles, chicken broth and diced chicken.
  4. Bring to a boil and simmer for 20 minutes.
  5. Stir in tomatoes and vegetables and cook 10 minutes longer.
