I came up with this chili out of desperation, using leftover peppers and onions from the steak dinner the day before and the salsa I had in the pantry. It was gone in no time!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 lb
    ground turkey
  • 2 large
    onions
  • 2 large
    green bell peppers
  • 2 jar(s)
    tostitos sweet and spicy summer salsa
  • 1 pkg
    mccormick chili mix
  • 2 can(s)
    light red kidney beans
  • 2 can(s)
    dark red kidney beans
  • 1/4 c
    red wine
  • 1/2 c
    chili powder
  • dash(es)
    salt
  • 2 can(s)
    diced tomatoes

How to Make Sweet and Spicy Chili

Step-by-Step

  1. Brown ground beef and turkey together in a large stock pot. Drain.
  2. Cut the onions into quarters. Cut the peppers into large slices. Place into pot with meat mixture. Cook together until the vegetables are moderately soft.
  3. Add the other ingredients. Stir well and let simmer on medium to medium low for 1 hour.
