My Grandmother Has made me this every year for Halloween Christmas and just about anytime I have asked for it, so she finally got tired of making it for me she just gave me the recipe LOL

  • 4 lb
    ground beef, chuck or whatever you prefer sometimes i add a pound of sausage to the mix in place of a lb of beef
  • 1 can(s)
    (large can)tomatoe juice then one can of cold water
  • 1 small
    can of tomatoe paste
  • 2 can(s)
    brookes hot chili beans rinsed(add more if desired)
  • 1 medium
    onion minced
  • 1/4 c
    sugar add more to taste
  • ·
    salt to taste
  • ·
    chili powder to taste
  • ·
    garlic if preferred

How to Make Nanny's Sweet Chili


  1. Brown Ground Beef (or whatever you chose)and minced onion Drain leaving just a small amount of liquid in the beef
  2. add rinsed beans, chili powder, sugar and salt , and tomato paste mix well in pan then add the tomato juice and fill the can again with water bring to a boil and lower heat to low and simmer for about 1 1/2 hours...
  3. Stir and taste as you go and add spices and sugar until it reaches the taste that suites you
