mum's quick and easy homemade chili

This is a quick fix chili that doesn't require much skill but tastes delicious and fills the belly. Goes excellent with my homemade honey cornbread. I make a couple different kinds of chili but this is my kids favorite.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground hamburger (i prefer the 93% lean)
  • 1 - onion diced
  • 4 cans kidney beans, reduced sodium, drained
  • 5 cans chili beans, reduced sodium, undrained
  • 4 cans diced tomatoes (2 cans drained, 2 cans undrained for thicker chili - no cans drained for thinner chili)
  • 32 ounces carton tomato sauce
  • 2 packages chili mix (i use about 4 t of bobby's chili seasoning, you can find the recipe on my page)

How To Make mum's quick and easy homemade chili

  • Step 1
    Brown hamburger with diced onion in large pot. Add rest of ingredients. Heat until bubbly then reduce heat to simmer. I like to leave it on simmer for most of the day but you can eat it right away if you're in a hurry.
