This is the chili that my mother madewhen I was a child. It is a good change of pace from the Cincinnati style chili that my family also likes.

Ingredients
- 1 pound Ground Beef
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1--46 oz can tomato juice
- 1--28 oz can diced tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon chili powder, or to taste
- - salt, to taste
- - pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 cup elbow macaroni
How To Make mom's southern chili

Step 1Brown onion and ground beef, drain off grease.

Step 2Combine onion, ground beef, tomato juice, diced tomatoes, elbow macaroni. Add seasoning to taste.

Step 3Heat until macaroni is cooked. About 15 minutes.

Step 4Serve with shredded cheddar cheese and oyster crackers.
