lad's meaty chili

I am not a big fan of chili,but my husband and nephews love it and they like it without beans,so I made up this recipe and it's a favorite. Some of them love hot and spicy,some don't,so I always include chopped chilies with the condiments which include,chopped onions,cilantro,sour cream and green onions.

Ingredients For lad's meaty chili

  • 1 lb boneless beef sirloin,cut in bite size pieces
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes
  • 4 c water
  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 2 onions,minced
  • 4 t. garlic,minced
  • 1 t. chili powder
  • 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes,undrained
  • 2- 4 oz cans fire roasted green chilies
  • 15 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1/4 t. crushed red pepper

How To Make lad's meaty chili

    Sprinkle steak pieces with salt and pepper. Heat oil in 6-quart saucepan over medium-high heat 1 minute. Add steak pieces . Cook 5 minutes, or until steak is browned on all sides, stirring frequently. Add bouillon cubes and water,simmer 20-30 minutes until steak is tender. While steak is simmering,brown ground beef,onions and garlic. Add chili powder,tomatoes,chilies, tomato sauce and red pepper; add to steak and blend well. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low; simmer, uncovered, 10-15 minutes, until sauce is slightly thickened,stirring occasionally
