karla's slow cooker chili
This chili is so nice to come home to after a long day at work. Note :You can have what ever amount or type of beans you like or you don't have to have beans in this if you don't want too.

Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1/2 tablespoon bacon fat or 5 precooked strips bacon crushed
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1/2 cup green and red peppers, chopped
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon beef soup base
- 48 ounces vegetable juice (v-8)
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper sauce or to taste
- 1 teaspoon cumin seed
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder or minced garlic
- 2 - bay leaves
- 1 teaspoon cilantro
- 1/2 tablespoon mexican oregano
- 1 package chili seasoning
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 can stewed tomatoes, 16 ounces
- 2 cans pinto beans
- 1 can light red kidney beans
How To Make karla's slow cooker chili

Step 1Brown pork and beef, and drain very well.

Step 2Add all ingredients to large crock pot and cover.

Step 3Cook on high for 4-6 hours or low for 8-12 hours.

Step 4The longer it cooks, the thicker it gets.

Step 5Cubed roast or steak may be substitiuted for the ground meat.
