We make this in massive quantities in the winter and invite friends and family over. Any leftovers get portioned out and sent home or frozen. It is a yummy way to share love!!! Even better the day after. Serve with choices of cheese, sour cream, or onions for personalization of flavors.

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds ground beef
  • 2 medium onions - chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic - minced
  • 2 1/2 cups tomato juice
  • 16 ounces tomatoes - diced with liquid
  • 16 ounces tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons oregano, dried
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 - 15 ounces cans of chili beans with chili gravy

How To Make just chillin' chili

  • Step 1
    Brown beef, onions, and garlic, drain fat.
  • Step 2
    Stir in tomato juice, tomatoes with liquid, tomato sauce, chili powder, salt, organo, and cumin. Simmer for 1 hour.
  • Step 3
    Stir in beans and simmer an additional hour
