heather's "hot mama" chili

My family and friends love this recipe. Using stew meat gives it hearty texture.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds beef stew meat (cut into smaller pieces)
  • 2 pounds ground sirloin
  • 2 cans bush's chili beans
  • 1-2 clove garlic minced
  • 2 cans 15 oz tomato sauce plus two cans water using tomato sauce cans
  • 1 package williams original chili seasoning (or hot if you desire)
  • 4 dashes cayenne pepper
  • 2-4 teaspoons tabasco chipotle pepper sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 small yellow onion into small pieces (or grate if you prefer)
  • 1 package shredded cheddar cheese
  • - saltines
  • - sour cream

How To Make heather's "hot mama" chili

  • Step 1
    Brown and drain stew meat and hamburger meat separately and add to stock pot.
  • Step 2
    Add minced garlic to meats while hot to infuse the garlic flavor.
  • Step 3
    Next, add two cans of chili beans(not drained), tomato sauce plus 2 cans of water, onion, dry seasonings and stir into mixture. Cook on low heat for 2 hours or....transfer mixture to crock pot and slow cook for 6-8 hours. Make sure to keep checking liquid level and add water as necessary.

    Serve with options of cheese, crackers, and sour cream.
