My family and friends love this recipe. Using stew meat gives it hearty texture.

  • 1 1/2 lb
    beef stew meat (cut into smaller pieces)
  • 2 lb
    ground sirloin
  • 2 can(s)
    bush's chili beans
  • 1-2 clove
    garlic minced
  • 2 can(s)
    15 oz tomato sauce plus two cans water using tomato sauce cans
  • 1 pkg
    williams original chili seasoning (or hot if you desire)
  • 4 dash(es)
    cayenne pepper
  • 2-4 tsp
    tabasco chipotle pepper sauce
  • 1 tsp
    ground black pepper
  • 1/8 tsp
    ground cumin
  • 1 tsp
    kosher salt
  • 1 small
    yellow onion into small pieces (or grate if you prefer)
  • 1 pkg
    shredded cheddar cheese

How to Make Heather's "Hot Mama" Chili


  1. Brown and drain stew meat and hamburger meat separately and add to stock pot.
  2. Add minced garlic to meats while hot to infuse the garlic flavor.
  3. Next, add two cans of chili beans(not drained), tomato sauce plus 2 cans of water, onion, dry seasonings and stir into mixture. Cook on low heat for 2 hours or....transfer mixture to crock pot and slow cook for 6-8 hours. Make sure to keep checking liquid level and add water as necessary.
  4. Serve with options of cheese, crackers, and sour cream.
