This recipe was given to me by a co-worker at Texas A&M University about 1978. We make it every year and it is definitely a family favorite in cool weather. Enjoy.

Ingredients For mexican chili

  • 3 lb
    ground beef cooked
  • 1 c
    onion chopped
  • 3 Tbsp
    oil
  • 2 can
    6 oz tomato paste
  • 2 can
    tomatoes, canned and chopped, with liquid
  • 2 can
    water
  • 2 clove
    garlic mashed
  • 1 Tbsp
    chili powder (or to taste)
  • 1 tsp
    cumin ground
  • 1/2 oz
    unsweetened chocolate
  • 2 can
    pinto beans
  • salt and pepper to taste

How To Make mexican chili

  • 1
    Place all ingredients in large Dutch oven and simmer 3 hours. I like to use the crock pot on low for the day.
