easy chili

The only chili I knew when I was growing up. Simple. Easy. I think it is wonderful, but hey, my mom made it!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 - onion, chopped
  • 5 to 6 - tomatoes, fresh or 1 qt canned
  • 1 can kidney beans or chili beans
  • 4 to 6 ounces dry spaghetti
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons chili powder, or to taste
  • - salt & pepper to taste
  • - chunks of colby or cheddar cheese, opt

How To Make easy chili

  • Step 1
    Brown ground beef with onion, add tomatoes and beans. If too much liquid, drain beans before adding if using kidney beans. add spaghetti and chili powder. Cook over medium heat for approx 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Step 2
    Spoon into bowls with chunks of cheese, if you like.
  • Step 3
    Macaroni can be used instead of spaghetti. If it seems too dry, add bean juice or a bit of water, or even tomato juice if you have it handy. Break the spaghetti into bits.
