This is my favorite crock-pot recipe, and I won 2nd prize at a chili cook-off at church several years ago. I'm not sure where the original recipe came from.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 - small onion, chopped
  • 2 cans (16 oz) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 can (11 oz) whole corn
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder (more if desired)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (more if desired)
  • - shredded cheddar cheese, optional

How To Make corny chili

  • Step 1
    In a skillet, cook beef and onion until meat is no longer pink; drain.
  • Step 2
    Transfer to slow cooker and stir in all other ingredients.
  • Step 3
    Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours or until heated through.
  • Step 4
    NOTE: Can be cooked on a stove top to save time. Same preparation, cook in 2-quart saucepan until heated through.
