- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup poblano pepper, diced
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 28 ounces tomatoes, whole in puree
- 1/3 cup raisins (optional)
- - cooked rice
How To Make classic chili

Step 1Cook beef in large skillet over medium-high heat until browned, 2 to 5 minutes.

Step 2Add onion and pepper; cook 3 minutes more.

Step 3Add chili powder, cinnamon, cumin and salt; cook 30 seconds.

Step 4Add tomatoes in puree, breaking up tomatoes with back of spoon, and raisins.

Step 5Cook, stirring occasionally, over medium heat 15 minutes.

Step 6Cooking time: 20 to 25 minutes
