chili powder
1/4 tsp
1/4 tsp
1/2 tsp

tomatoes, whole in puree
1/3 c
raisins (optional)
cooked rice

How to Make Classic Chili


  • 1Cook beef in large skillet over medium-high heat until browned, 2 to 5 minutes.
  • 2Add onion and pepper; cook 3 minutes more.
  • 3Add chili powder, cinnamon, cumin and salt; cook 30 seconds.
  • 4Add tomatoes in puree, breaking up tomatoes with back of spoon, and raisins.
  • 5Cook, stirring occasionally, over medium heat 15 minutes.
  • 6Cooking time: 20 to 25 minutes
