chorizo chili
This is my Son's favorite chili. It just spicy enough for him. He has me add a Habanero for good measure...lol! This can be cooked on the stove or in a crock pot. I have made it in both... either way its a mighty tasty dish...Enjoy!! My photos

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds ground chorizo or other spiced pork
- 2 - 3 - jalapeno's chopped, with or without seeds and membranes
- 1 - habanero pepper, fresh, chopped ( optional )
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 - 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 15 ounces can black beans, drained and crushed - can add more if you like
- 11 ounces corn, drained - canned or frozen
- 30 ounces can tomatoes, crushed
- 15 ounces can tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon ground oregano
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 2 tablespoons hot chile sauce or asian hot sauce
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
How To Make chorizo chili

Step 1Chop onion, peppers,garlic.

Step 2Place meat in Dutch oven or similar on stove top burner. Brown meat on medium heat setting for 5 to 7 minutes. Add the vegetables and cook till tender, drain.

Step 3Add all other ingredients in crock pot or dutch oven to finish cooking.

Step 4Cook for 4 hours on low in slow cooker or cook for 1 1/2 to 2 hours on medium to medium low heat on stove top burner.

Step 5Enjoy...make this chili as hot or mild as you like, depending on the amount of peppers and spices you use.
