Ingredients

  • 1 large can ortega chilies, diced
  • 1 1/2 pounds grated colby/jack cheese
  • 4 - eggs, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large can evaporated milk
  • 1 small can tomato sauce, i use picante sauce if i have it.

How To Make chili relleno casserole

  • Step 1
    Drain chilies. Line casserole with 1/2 of chilies. Spread cheese over chilies. Line rest of chilies on top of cheese.
  • Step 2
    Beat eggs, milk, flour and salt together. Pour over top of chilies and cheese.
  • Step 3
    Bake at 375 degrees for 35 min. or until set. Pour tomato sauce over top and bake 5 min. longer.
  • Step 4
    Remove from oven and let set a few minutes before cutting. Enjoy!
