Ingredients
- 1 pound hamburger
- - olive oil, extra virgin
- - hot chile oil
- 1 medium onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 6-8 - hotdogs (wimmers natural casing is best)
- 3 cans mexican stewed tomatoes
- 1 can (large) crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 bottle tomato vegetable juice
- 1-2 can chopped green chiles
- 3 cans chili beans
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 2 tablespoons cumin
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
How To Make chili-dog chili

Step 1Brown hamburger. Drain and put into large soup pot. Chop onion, saute in hot oils until translucent. Grate garlic cloves into pan for the last couple minutes of sauteing. Add to soup pot.

Step 2Add more oils to pan, heat. Cut hotdogs into bite-sized pieces. Cook until well browned, add to soup pot.

Step 3Empty stewed tomatoes into a bowl, cut into smaller bite-sized pieces with two table knives. Add to hot pan to de-glaze and reduce juices to half. Add to soup pot.

Step 4Add beans, juice, crushed tomatoes, chiles and seasonings to soup pot. Stir and taste for any needed adjustments. Simmer 15-20 minutes. Top with 1/4 cup cheese to each bowl before serving.
