Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup green bell pepper chopped
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 can tomato sauce, 1 pound
  • 1 can stewed tomatoes, 1 pound
  • 1 can kidney beans, drained 1 pound
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard

How To Make chili

  • Step 1
    Place plastic colander in a 2-quart microwave-safe casserole.
  • Step 2
    Combine onion, green pepper and crumbled ground beef in colander.
  • Step 3
    Microwave (high or 100% power) for 6 minutes, stirring once halfway through cooking.
  • Step 4
    Remove colander and pour off drippings.
  • Step 5
    Turn meat mixture into casserole.
  • Step 6
    Add tomato sauce, tomatos, beans, salt, chili powder, black pepper and mustard and cover.
  • Step 7
    Microwave (high or 100% power) for 10-12 minutes, stirring halfway through cooking.
  • Step 8
    Rest, covered, for 5 minutes.
